Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant II in the Rheumatology department at Sutter Health, you will play a vital role in providing clinical and clerical support to providers and members of the patient care team. Your responsibilities will include performing a variety of back office and patient-related tasks, ensuring smooth patient and workflow within the department, and assisting the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical support to providers and members of the patient care team, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering injections.
  • Assist with implementing the medical plan of care, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and services.
  • Perform clerical tasks, such as maintaining accurate records and communicating with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Work collaboratively with the patient care team to ensure smooth patient and workflow within the department.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA Certification by a California Medical Board recognized agency
  • Equivalent Sutter Health Training program

Working Conditions:

This position may regularly work with hazardous drugs, as identified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The salary range for this role is $27.88 to $33.45 per hour, and the position requires a full-time schedule with 40 hours per week.
