Job Overview

GPAC is seeking a Project Engineer with Heavy Civil Construction Experience to excel in your construction career.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, compiling production and cost statistics to identify problem areas. They will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure timely response to paperwork, correspondence, submittals, and other project-related tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Project Submittals: Prepare and distribute project submittals in accordance with project requirements.
  • Subcontracts and Purchase Agreements: Prepare and execute subcontracts and purchase agreements for the project.
  • Plan Drawings and Revisions: Maintain and distribute plan drawings and revisions as required.
  • Project Logs: Initialize and maintain project logs, including RFI's, Change Orders, and Submittals.
  • Work Plans: Assist in preparing work plans for upcoming scopes of work.
  • Permits: Obtain required permits for job site activity.
  • Quantity Tracking: Track quantities to ensure accurate payment by owner.
  • Daily Production Quantities: Maintain daily production quantities for cost tracking purposes.
  • Budget Review: Review budgets and adjust job costing as necessary.
  • Change Order Correspondence: Manage change order correspondence and tracking.
  • Project Close-outs: Assist in ensuring timely and accurate project close-outs.
Qualifications
  • Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Heavy Civil Construction Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of field concepts, practices, procedures pertaining to highway/road construction; demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; lead through influence to drive change and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Self-Motivation and Teamwork: Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision as a team player.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year.
