Job Overview

Position Title: PICC RN / Vascular Access Specialist

Reporting To: Regional Manager / Clinical Liaison

The role of the PICC RN / Vascular Access Specialist is designed to deliver specialized vascular access services to patients. Adhering to the regulations established by the state of licensure and the policies of Dynamic Access LLC, the specialist is expected to uphold a high standard of professionalism and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Vascular Access Procedures

  • Perform bedside insertion of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
  • Conduct bedside insertion of midlines and extended dwell catheters.
  • Execute bedside insertion of peripheral IV catheters.
  • Establish access through intravascular ports.
  • Assess and evaluate patients with vascular access devices.
Patient Education

  • Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding the procedures being performed.
  • Address any inquiries related to the procedures.
  • Offer training to staff as necessary.
Documentation

  • Accurately document all procedures in accordance with client policies and company standards.
Required Competencies

  • Possession of a current RN license in the relevant state.
  • Valid ACLS and BCLS certifications.
  • Completion of a vascular access competency skills checklist.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated personal effectiveness and credibility.
  • Focus on patient and client needs.
Work Environment

This position involves working in diverse healthcare settings. The role may require travel between various client facilities, which can constitute a significant portion of the workday. The specialist will routinely utilize portable ultrasound equipment, medical supplies, mobile devices, and computers.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here represent the essential functions of the role. The employee must regularly be able to see, talk, and hear. This position involves physical activities such as driving, standing, bending, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds. The ability to lift equipment, assist in repositioning patients, and stand during procedures is necessary.
