About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Relief Supervisor to join our team at Bassett Healthcare Network. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for the management of nursing services on designated shifts, including the supervision of nursing staff and the coordination of patient care.
  • Determine the quality of nursing care by observing residents, reviewing charts and care plans, and communicating with staff and physicians.
  • Assist the Charge Nurse in assessing resident needs, identifying nursing diagnoses, and developing care plans.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff on new procedures, policies, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular rounds to observe the effectiveness of care and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care, including progress notes and incident reports.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new programs and services.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York.
  • One year of experience as a general staff nurse, with a minimum of two years of nursing supervision experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
