Lead Clinical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Team Lead to join our team at Rutherford Regional Health System. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in our testing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist staff in resolving issues and complex troubleshooting with instruments to ensure area is always able to report results.
- Resolve technical problems and ensures that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from policies and procedures.
- Establishes and monitors quality control programs as the technical lead of assigned area and administrative director direction.
- Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment.
- Mentors and trains all staff and reports any training issues to the laboratory administrative director.
- Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing.
- Follows specimen rejection policies and procedures.
- LIS functional training and process improvements.
- Operates laboratory equipment in a high-quality, effective manner.
- Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/documents results per organizational standards.
- Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment.
- Maintains technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve instrumentation, testing, or QC (Quality Control) problems.
- Set up new procedures and instrumentation under the technical lead direction consulting with Medical Director when appropriate.
- Utilizes the laboratory and hospital QA/PI plans to continually improve processes and designs.
- Maintains sufficient inventory of supplies and takes steps to reduce waste.
- Associate's degree with medical laboratory technician training and 2-5 years' experience in hospital/medical laboratory.
- Bachelor's degree in biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or medical technology, clinical training.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Meditech experienced preferred. Basic Microsoft Office suite
