POSITION SUMMARY
The Research Registered Nurse at NCHRI plays a pivotal role in collaborating with physicians to effectively manage clinical research projects across diverse healthcare environments, including Emergency Departments, Cath Labs, ICUs, Electrophysiology labs, Step-down units, Operating Rooms, and outpatient settings. This role involves overseeing research-related patient care, facilitating participant enrollment, ensuring retention in clinical trials, reporting progress to sponsors, and coordinating study involvement with existing clinical care plans. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential for success in this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage clinical research studies, ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
- Conduct necessary procedures and data collection activities in observational environments.
- Act as the primary clinical liaison for study sponsors, patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Guarantee data accuracy and completeness supported by medical records and relevant documentation.
- Facilitate physician oversight of all data and ensure prompt delivery to sponsors.
- Coordinate research tasks and patient activities in accordance with Good Clinical Practice.
- Assist in maintaining accurate protocol processes and patient follow-up evaluations.
- Promote high patient retention and enrollment in research protocols.
- Engage in patient care responsibilities associated with the research project.
- Provide nursing expertise and decision-making support to non-RN team members.
- Represent the NCH Research Institute in a professional capacity.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Critical Care/Cardiology preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
