Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN), adhering to the ANA scope of practice, employs the nursing process framework to deliver professional nursing care. This includes incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and facilitate discharge. The RN ensures quality patient care under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures, while recognizing the influence of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on health outcomes. The RN collaborates with patients and families to incorporate their input and goals into the care plan and develops educational strategies for patients and families, documenting learning appropriately in health records.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required within five years.
  • Graduates from non-accredited nursing programs must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months.
  • Specialty certification is highly recommended within two years.
  • One year of experience as an RN in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with night shifts, requiring three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend.
