Job Summary

The Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking a highly skilled Historian II to join our Cultural Resources Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing and commenting on documents related to cultural resources and historic property identification, evaluation, and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and comment on documents related to cultural resources and historic property identification, evaluation, and treatment.
  • Recommend management actions and regulatory steps to preserve or address historic properties.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of cultural resources and historic preservation practices.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and external partners.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in History, Historic Preservation, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cultural resources management or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of cultural resources and historic preservation practices.
