As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be integral in providing care to both adult and pediatric patients facing various health challenges, including respiratory ailments, gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes, and cardiac issues. Your expertise will be essential in this dynamic environment, where you will perform critical tasks such as administering intravenous therapies, conducting electrocardiograms, and performing phlebotomy.
The role of an ER RN encompasses several key responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Evaluating the condition of patients upon arrival.
- Individualized Care Plans: Crafting tailored care strategies to meet patient needs.
- Medication Protocols: Ensuring adherence to prescribed medication regimens.
- Direct Patient Care: Delivering hands-on care to patients in need.
- Emergency Response: Acting swiftly and effectively in crisis situations.
- Nursing Documentation: Accurately recording all aspects of patient care.
- Healthcare Collaboration: Working closely with the medical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a minimum of one year of critical care experience and hold a valid Pennsylvania RN license. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are mandatory, while Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) certifications are preferred. Weekend shifts are required, and flexibility to assist in critical care areas may be necessary.
