The City of Carlsbad is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer - Lateral, you will be responsible for performing law enforcement and crime prevention work, controlling traffic flow, and enforcing state and local traffic regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol city streets, respond to emergency calls, and enforce laws and regulations.
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and testify in court as needed.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share information and best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports of incidents, arrests, and other law enforcement activities.
- Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to their concerns and needs.
- One year of California law enforcement experience as a Police Officer, with a POST Basic Certificate.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making quick decisions and taking action as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy objects, as well as work in a variety of weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
