Position Overview
- OSF Cardiovascular Service Line is seeking a board eligible/certified cardiothoracic surgeon to join our esteemed team. The Thoracic Center of Excellence has grown significantly since its establishment, incorporating clinical research, publications, patient education resources, and collaborative efforts with other institutions.
- The role involves managing a diverse case load, including but not limited to Tracheal resections, VATS lobectomies, Esophagectomies, and Pneumonectomies, alongside various thoracoscopies and bronchoscopies. A comprehensive understanding of thoracic surgical procedures is essential, excluding lung transplantation.
- Since 2006, our center has prioritized enhancing patient care quality through systematic outcome data collection, contributing to the Society of Thoracic Surgeons national database. Our facility has consistently achieved top rankings for risk-adjusted outcomes in major lung resections, reflecting our commitment to exceptional patient care.
- OSF HealthCare encompasses a network of thirteen hospitals and medical centers, complemented by a dedicated team of cardiovascular professionals, including 3 CV Surgeons and 4 cardiothoracic surgery physician assistants. The practice environment is dynamic and well-supported by a robust primary care referral network.
