Principal Power Electronics Engineer

Aquinas Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Principal Power Electronics Engineer to join our team in Connecticut. As a key member of our Power Electronics team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of power electronic systems and components.
Job Responsibilities:- Develop and implement power electronic systems, including converters, inverters, and control systems, from concept to production.
- Define technical requirements and specifications based on project goals and customer needs.
- Conduct detailed analysis, simulation, and modeling of power electronic circuits and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop power electronic components and systems.
- Perform design verification, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with customer and contract specifications.
- Apply Design for X (DfX) methodologies to improve design processes and methodologies.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years' experience in power electronic systems design and development.
- Expertise in designing high-frequency switching power converters, inverters, and DC/DC converters.
- Proficiency in simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, MathCAD, PSpice, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of thermal management, EMI considerations, and reliability engineering principles.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding engineering teams and projects.
