Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute responsibilities with minimal oversight.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within designated areas.
  • Act as a liaison, effectively communicating with relevant organizations.
  • Review financial documentation to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Analyze financial records for adherence to accepted accounting practices.
  • Evaluate accounting systems for efficiency and compliance.
  • Develop or refine departmental audit policies and procedures.
  • Oversee junior staff and support personnel as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to assess fiscal health.
  • Conduct research and prepare final monitoring reports, addressing financial discrepancies.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited institution, coupled with two (2) years of relevant professional experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; OR
Six (6) years of professional experience, with at least one (1) year in a leadership role; OR
One (1) year of experience in a comparable auditing position.

Additional Information:

The Georgia Department of Public Health promotes wellness among its employees, encouraging participation in health-focused activities during work hours. Employees may utilize up to 30 minutes daily for wellness initiatives.
