We are seeking dedicated Medical Assistants to join our healthcare team. This role offers a $5000 Sign-on Bonus for certified or registered medical assistants, distributed in three payments for full-time employees.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience: Not applicable
- Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (AMT) and current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program
- Experience: 1-2 years in a healthcare setting
Core Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and document vital signs, patient medical history, and chief complaints.
- Prepare examination and treatment areas with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Maintain and sterilize equipment for treatments.
- Assist in scheduling tests and treatments for patients.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Perform phlebotomy, finger sticks, and collect lab specimens.
- Support healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Follow infection control policies and procedures diligently.
- Manage and respond to patient communications and referrals.
- Process prescriptions electronically as directed by providers.
- Conduct waived lab tests, EKGs, and administer injections.
- Apply dressings and remove sutures as instructed.
- Utilize CPR skills when necessary.
- Dispose of biohazard waste in accordance with state regulations.
- Adhere to OSHA standards and maintain compliance.
- Document all actions accurately and ethically.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain physical fitness to meet the demands of an active role.
- Exhibit manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Be capable of performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
