Position Overview

SAIC, a prominent provider of systems development and deployment, targeting and intelligence analysis, systems engineering and integration, and training capabilities for the Intelligence Community, is in search of a Systems Engineer for the Project Management Office. This role involves delivering systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services to a United States Government (USG) entity. SETA contractors engage in analytical and engineering services in a consulting role, collaborating closely with the government’s engineering personnel. This client is tasked with the design, construction, and operation of national security systems across various domains including space, aerial, and terrestrial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical development of radiation-hardened microelectronics and advanced computing technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance by evaluating and suggesting pertinent technical initiatives.
  • Investigate and present insights on the latest advancements in microelectronics, fabrication packaging, and high-performance computing architectures, offering recommendations to shape group strategies.
  • Collaborate with various government sectors to comprehend technical requirements and derive specifications for upcoming technology roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Support the development of diverse new electronic device technologies in areas such as heterogeneous integration and photonics.
  • Conduct systems engineering assessments and create supporting documentation for microelectronics and high-performance computing projects.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn the necessary tools for tasking, planning, researching, and data management related to the microelectronics program.
  • Assist in drafting statements of work and other procurement documentation.
  • Support the source selection process.
  • Analyze developers' deliverables, including periodic reports, test results, and other technical documentation.
  • Provide assistance in project administration, encompassing management, technical, and financial dimensions.
  • Document outcomes for dissemination across all levels of decision-making authority.
  • Occasional travel may be required, not exceeding 15% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience, or 12 years with a Master's degree.
  • Fundamental understanding of integrated circuits.
  • Proficient in articulating technical issues clearly and effectively.
  • Capable of executing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to actively engage in a collaborative team environment.
  • Skilled in fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Competent in generating and assessing technical documents and reports.
  • Willingness to provide occasional surge support.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
