Claims Specialist

About the Role:

Talent Software Services is seeking an experienced Claims Coordinator to join our team in Cumberland, RI. This role offers a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year.

Job Description:

• We are looking for a highly skilled professional to work with in-house counsel, outside counsel, and independently using knowledge of our system, cause and origin, damage calculations and valuations, and legal processes to reach an optimum outcome for our company.
• The ideal candidate will perform complex risk and factual analysis of claims, considering strategic objectives, legal reporting obligations, and compliance with the law.
• Responsibilities include conducting factual and liability investigations, negotiating claim resolutions, managing matters from date of loss through conclusion, and pursuing recovery for damages caused by third parties.
• The selected candidate will also report the status of claims to our management team and may assist in representing our company at trials and settlement conferences.
• Advising clients on the appropriateness of our operations and activities from a claims handling and collections perspective is also a key responsibility.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree with two to four years of claims experience or a combination of claims and paralegal experience, with knowledge of the legal principles applicable to tort liability and damages is required.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and experience in matter analysis and resolution are essential skills.
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, critical analysis skills, and the ability to perform multiple assignments concurrently are also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code, National Fire Protection Association code, and Federal and State regulations related to electrical and natural gas incidents is preferred.
• Knowledge of claims databases and legal billing and research programs is also desirable.
