Job Responsibilities:

As a Radiology Technologist, you will:

  • Communicate procedures to patients to ensure clarity and understanding, providing educational resources as needed.
  • Transport patients within clinical areas, verifying their identity according to established protocols, and assist in preparing them for radiological examinations.
  • Support technologists in managing patient reports and charts, ensuring proper organization and delivery.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize unnecessary exposure.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, reporting any unusual activity and suggesting protocol updates as necessary.
  • Ensure high-quality submission of all images and documents to PACS, maintaining accuracy in patient data.
  • Check and maintain the functionality of imaging equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Assist in keeping the department clean and organized, including all related areas.
  • In emergencies, may perform limited CT procedures when the CT Technologist is unavailable.
  • Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular standing and walking.
  • Frequent visual and auditory tasks for communication and monitoring.
  • Ability to lift and move patients, as well as objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional bending and reaching required.
