Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our interdisciplinary team of high-achieving medical professionals in the 42-bed Emergency Department. As a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, we utilize the latest technologies, including EPIC EMR, Teleneurology, and wireless medication scanning. Our unit emphasizes safety, collaboration, and adaptability, making it an ideal setting for professional growth.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, you will:

  • Develop evidence-based plans of care using the nursing process;
  • Utilize strong communication and teamwork skills to ensure seamless patient care;
  • Cultivate a supportive and inclusive culture that promotes diversity and respect.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut;
  • One year of RN experience or completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program;
  • BLS certification with the ability to obtain ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and CPI certifications within 90 days of hire;
  • Ability to maintain administration of moderate sedation within 9 months of hire;
  • Certified Emergency Nurse, Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Additionally, you can expect:
