Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Drill Press Operator to join our team at Aerotek. As a Drill Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple conventional drill presses to drill holes in steel components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up radial drill using multiple drill bits due to thickness of casting
  • Change drill bit 5-6 times before boring a hole in the proper place on casting
  • Use vices to clamp down the part to the bed of the machine
  • Measure diameter of hole and other quality metrics to ensure it meets the order requirements
  • Frequently lift and adjust iron casting

Requirements:

  • Ability to read basic blueprints (identify diameter of hole)
  • Ability to consistently lift 50+ pounds
  • Mechanically inclined (e.g., farm hand, changing car brakes, sharpening blades on lawn mower)
  • Ability to use a caliper (preferred)

Work Environment:

This is a fully on-site position in Westfield, Indiana. The work environment is 1st shift (1 opening): Monday - Friday 6AM - 4:30PM. **TRAINING HOURS: 3rd shift: Sunday Evening - Friday Morning 8PM - 6:30AM; +$1.25 shift differential for night shift**

They are currently working about 10 - 12 hours of overtime a week due to current business demand, including 2 Saturdays a month.
