Job Title: Sr. AWS EKS DevOps Engineer

BCI is seeking a highly skilled Sr. AWS EKS DevOps Engineer for a long-term project with our direct client based in Jersey City, NJ. This is a level III / Sr role. The ideal candidate will have proven DevOps experience with a strong background in AWS services, Amazon EKS, Helm charts, Docker, Linux, and Atlassian products like Bamboo and Bitbucket. Strong EKS experience is a must. The candidate will be involved in moving new modern.Net Core applications to Linux.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain production infrastructure and services, and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Ensure proper security for the infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain processes, tools, and documentation in support of production.
  • Experience as a leader working with large distributed systems.
  • Experience with a variety of scripting languages for automating tasks, generating reports, and creating tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD of deploying software.
  • Automation skills with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack or similar.
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies including code profiling, regression testing, continuous integration, and push button deployments.
  • Experience as either a LAMP stack software developer and/or systems administrator/systems engineer.
  • Experience with high-availability, high-performance, open-source web technologies.
  • Experience with AWS cloud platform, open-source databases, and caching layers.
  • Automates all infrastructure build out in AWS utilizing Ansible, Packer, and Terraform.
  • Distributed Systems, DFS, Kubernetes (k8s), Sarm, Mesosphere, Docker, Services Discovery, Container Orchestration, DFW, Apache Spark, Hadoop, CLI, API, DevOps, Consul, vault, and microservice.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Must have at a minimum, 3 years of hands-on AWS services experience.
  • Expertise with Amazon EKS and Helm charts – must have 2 years experience.
  • Net Core applications running on Amazon EKS, Docker, Linux, and Atlassian products like Bamboo and Bitbucket.
  • Experience in scripting and development.
  • Experience with open-source monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Experience with web applications.
  • IP networking experience, LB technologies.
  • Experience with systems automation.
  • Experience with big data systems.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
