Job SummaryWe are seeking a part-time instructor to teach theatre makeup courses at one of our colleges. The successful candidate will have a strong background in theatre arts, particularly in makeup design and technical theatre. They will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, creating engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress.
Responsibilities- Teach theatre makeup courses to students with varying skill levels
- Create and maintain an inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and growth
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet course objectives
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Masters degree or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance from an accredited institution
- Or, possess a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent to the above
- Evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage the classroom environment
- Recent community college or lower division teaching experience
- Expertise and professional experience in field of course(s) to be taught
- Documented significant experience teaching appropriate college level theater courses with a preferred emphasis in make-up design/technical theatre
This is a part-time, temporary position, and employment is contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. The estimated salary for this position is $50-$75 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
