Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Paramedic to join our team of air transportation experts. As a Flight Paramedic, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical facilities, as well as scene call work. Your primary focus will be on providing quality, professional patient care while maintaining high safety standards for the crew and our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
  • Perform daily base checks, including narcotic counts.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintaining thorough patient care documentation.
  • Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
  • Be knowledgeable in the use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
  • Function as a medical flight member.
  • Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefing, completing necessary documentation.
  • Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot assistance when needed.
  • Comply with safety standards to ensure the safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Fulfill open or vacant shifts within assigned areas as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director.

Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience in an ALS or critical care setting required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status. Trauma certification within 12 months of hire required.
  • Advanced Certification (FP-C) preferred, required within 24 months from date of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned areas.
