Job SummaryThe Electroplating Technician is a key position in the plating and electroplating department at Component Repair Technologies. This role involves applying hard nickel and e-nickel plating to surfaces of turbine engine components using a process that submerges the component into a liquid bath and introduces electrical current to the host metal.
This position requires the ability to work alongside experienced plating technicians, allowing for continuous interaction of techniques, skill knowledge, print reading, and interpretation. The successful candidate will become familiar with various types of processes, equipment, and learn about safety and quality standards while developing their technique under the supervision of a professional team of technicians.
As skills increase, so will responsibilities, giving hands-on experience, growth, and additional responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer-based and hands-on training, the necessary skills of the position.
Key responsibilities include evaluating incoming parts and determining what cleaning, plating, or other operations are required.
The candidate will interpret and follow work instructions to ensure the proper process is applied to the correct part features.
Cleaning parts of any contaminants using cleaning agents and chemicals prior to the plating process is also a key responsibility.
Additionally, the candidate will mask parts in preparation for plating using manufacturer recommendations and internal work instructions.
Selecting and setting up necessary racks and/or fixtures for the initiation of the plating operation is also required.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have two years' work experience in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions and accurately document processes and findings is essential.
Experience in the use of general shop math, general hand tools, power tools, and the use of overhead cranes is also required.
Work Environment
The work environment is varied, with the candidate required to work in different positions from time to time.
The candidate will be required to stand and/or sit for portions of the shift.
Moving parts (over 50 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods is also a requirement.
The position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing (including respirator fit test) and a vision exam.
Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions.
