Job Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing the Inventory Control team, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory processes. This includes physical inventory, standards setting, and variance reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Inventory Control team, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Assign duties, give verbal and written instructions, and review work for conformance to quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor sales and inventory levels to ensure accurate forecasts and adjust orders as needed.
  • Place regular and special orders with key vendors and prepare purchase orders.
  • Negotiate price and delivery dates with vendors and reconcile invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain inventory database, ensuring data is accurate and timely.
  • Develop and report on department metrics, analyzing variances and recommending improvements.
  • Work with other managers to ensure coordination of inventory operations, production, shipping, and quality assurance.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing an inventory operation.
  • Excellent management skills for directing, coaching, scheduling, and assisting team members.
  • Technical orientation with ability to learn new technologies.
  • Computer skills including MS Office.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative.
