Job Title: Core Faculty Physician

Join the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine as a Core Faculty Physician in the Department of Family Medicine and Population Health. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced physician to join our team as we launch a new rural training track family medicine residency program.

About the Program

The VCU Family Medicine Residency Program is a premier academic medical center located in Richmond, VA. Our program is internationally recognized for patient care and education, and we are committed to training the next generation of family physicians. As a Core Faculty Physician, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our program and contributing to the development of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to underserved populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Supervise and teach residents in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, and community-based programs
  • Develop and implement curriculum for the rural training track residency program
  • Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of a diverse and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
  • Board certification in Family Medicine
  • Experience in providing direct patient care to underserved populations
  • Strong teaching and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced academic environment
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in rural healthcare settings
  • Direct experience in medical education and residency training
  • Leadership experience in a healthcare setting
  • Publications or presentations in a peer-reviewed journal or at a scientific conference
