As a Cardiac Sonography Specialist, you will play a crucial role in utilizing advanced imaging technology to assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing cardiac conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct echocardiograms of high diagnostic quality, producing ultrasound images of the heart and its structures using various techniques such as 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, and Strain.
2. Administer ultrasound enhancing agents competently.
3. Provide comprehensive pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including assessment and emergency cardiac support.
4. Complete structured reports for all examinations promptly.
5. Collaborate with healthcare providers regarding echocardiogram findings.
6. Monitor and document patient information, ensuring accurate report storage and data management. Prepare necessary data for charge entry and video archiving using digital systems.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within three months of hire, or completion of a twelve-month ultrasound program within three months of hire.

Licensure/Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) within one year of hire, maintaining registry status and continuing education annually.

Experience:
- No prior experience required.

Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in operating sonographic equipment.
- Ability to evaluate echocardiograms for accurate diagnostic information.
- Capacity to adapt workload based on patient needs.
- Independent judgment in acquiring optimal echocardiogram data.
- Adherence to established departmental protocols.
- Efficiently manage emergency situations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of echocardiography interpretation and skills.
- Strong communication skills and sensitivity to patient requirements.
