An Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for managing the repair and upkeep of various company machinery, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and vehicles. This role requires the ability to identify and resolve issues related to the company's equipment efficiently.
The position demands a proactive approach to working in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment, with an emphasis on production and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and troubleshoot problems with a range of machinery (including scissor lifts, light and heavy-duty trucks, off-road vehicles, and forklifts).
- Execute necessary repairs on equipment as required.
- Replace electric motors (weighing between 35-65 lbs).
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
- Rebuild control boxes as needed.
- Fabricate hydraulic hoses.
- Remove and replace tires (weight considerations apply) – assistance available for heavier tires.
- Replace deck and lift baskets (requires teamwork).
- Remove hydraulic cylinders (weight considerations apply).
- Perform wiring tasks.
- Provide recommendations regarding equipment condition.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery.
- Perform steam cleaning.
- Complete weekly and annual inspections of lifts.
- Receive and check-in parts.
- Participate in seasonal snow removal tasks.
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in servicing forklifts, scissor lifts, and other machinery/vehicles is essential.
- At least 5 years of experience working with hydraulic systems and/or electrical circuits is required.
- Current certifications in JLG Training, Sky Jack, and Genie are advantageous.
- A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is necessary.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Office applications (such as Word and Excel) is required.
