Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distribution Center Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our distribution center. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial reporting of the warehouse, designing and implementing production planning, and advising employees on the care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and manage the layout of the warehouse and other storage areas to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of inventory.
  2. Manage the financial reporting of the warehouse, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  3. Design and implement production planning to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers.
  4. Advise employees on the care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped, and provide guidance on the use of equipment and handling procedures.
  5. Study records and recommend remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow-moving, and excess stock.
  6. Review records for accuracy and compliance with established procedures, and determine adequacy of stock levels.
  7. Schedule work for special and periodic inventories, and trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records.
  8. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  9. Issue written and oral instructions, assign duties, and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  10. Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates, maintain harmony among workers, and resolve grievances.
  11. Adjust errors and complaints, and perform other duties as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing 4-12 subordinate managers who manage departmental supervisors, who in turn will supervise a total of employees in the various departments. The Distribution Center Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, designing and implementing management and operational procedures, and general problem resolution.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or three to five years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus. The successful candidate must be able to interact with all levels of management, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce. Good organizational skills, knowledge of DC operations, strong sense of teamwork, and ability to adhere to strict deadlines are also essential.
