Job Summary

>

We are seeking a qualified Protection Specialist to join our team at the Center for Disease Control in Pittsburgh, PA. As a Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for enforcing regulations designed to prevent breaches of security, exercising judgment and using discretion in dealing with various situations, and providing access and egress services to property.

Key Responsibilities

>
  • Enforce regulations to prevent breaches of security and maintain a high level of vigilance at all times.>
  • Exercise judgment and use discretion in dealing with various situations, including responding to emergencies, providing first aid, and escalating issues as necessary.>
  • Provide access and egress services to property, including issuing badges, maintaining visitor records, and operating x-ray machines and metal detectors.>
  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility, both interior and exterior, to identify potential security risks and respond to any incidents that may occur.>
  • Maintain accurate and detailed reports of all incidents, including crimes, security violations, and other events that may impact the safety and security of the facility.>
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure a seamless response to emergencies and other critical situations.>
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to security protocols and procedures.

Requirements

>

To be successful in this role, you must have:

>
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.>
  • Be at least 21 years old.>
  • Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.>
  • Pass a thorough background check, including fingerprinting and drug screening.>
  • Hold a Security Guard License for the state of Pennsylvania.>
  • Have basic knowledge of computerized access control and video monitoring systems.

Preferred Qualifications

>

Previous experience in a security or law enforcement role, particularly in a federal or government setting, is highly desirable.

>

Work Environment

>

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, with varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The salary for this role is approximately $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
