About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and select technical factors and equipment to obtain high-quality ultrasound scans, utilizing immobilization techniques as needed.
  • Deliver patient care in accordance with department standards and guidelines, ensuring continued quality improvement.
  • Document patient information and statistics for department records, ensuring adequate supplies and proper patient records.
  • Secure pertinent patient history for each procedure, providing the radiologist with adequate information for film interpretation.
  • Comply with established safety standards to ensure patient and staff well-being.
  • Stay up-to-date with current ultrasound skills and new developments in the field.
  • Provide instruction and assistance to students and fellow technologists as needed.
Requirements
  • ARDMS Registry eligibility, with successful completion within the first year of employment.
  • Possess high technical knowledge to perform specialized ultrasound studies with minimal assistance.
  • Able to make diagnostic judgments and present them to the radiologist for interpretation.
  • CPR certification.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to adjust to flexible hours and work odd hours, including late shifts and on-call rotations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and view small CRT screens during exams.
  • Ability to perform lifting activities related to patients and operate portable equipment.
  • Exposed to radiation and able to communicate with patients.
  • Ability to participate in on-call programs and adjust to flexible work hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and use patient handling equipment when necessary.
