ResponsibilitiesThe Critical Care Flex RN is responsible for managing the care of critically ill patients in line with established protocols and policies. Primary responsibilities include working in the ICU or ER, with flexibility to assist in other medical units as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess patient care requirements.
- Implement physician orders effectively.
- Administer medications, perform wound care, and monitor vital signs.
- Manage respiratory care and ventilator support for patients.
- Coordinate care among various healthcare disciplines.
- Document and communicate patient conditions accurately using electronic systems.
- Educate patients and their families regarding care plans.
- Assist in discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide culturally competent care tailored to individual patient needs.
- Mentor and orient new nursing staff.
Required Qualifications:
- ACLS, NIHSS Stroke, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certifications within six months of hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is mandatory.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana or an active Compact State RN license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; an Associate Degree is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a Critical Care setting is preferred.
