Senior Buyer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team at Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for purchasing complex or technical supplies and services, coordinating with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner.

• Monitor and manage the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontractors, negotiating for the highest quality at best value.
• Work with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability.
• Evaluate bids, select, and recommend suppliers.
• Interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
• Follow up on all awards until completion of order.
• Negotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
• May recommend cost-saving proposals, including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing.
• Conduct supplier site visits and rate them on production capability, performance, and delivery.
• May provide work leadership for junior-level employees.

• Must be a sole US Citizen.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical knowledge, understanding machine components, and ability to read blueprints is a requirement.
• 4+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with MS (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
