- You will adhere to institutional policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
- Your role will require integrity and reliability, recognizing the unique contributions of each individual within the organization.
- You will engage in all facets of medication distribution that do not necessitate the professional judgment of a pharmacist.
- All responsibilities will align with the strategic objectives of pharmacy management.
- You will independently execute essential technician tasks and responsibilities within the department.
- Maintain professional and effective communication with colleagues and patients.
- Appropriately utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all relevant activities.
- Employ aseptic techniques throughout the compounding process in a timely manner.
- Uphold strict compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards.
- Conduct necessary calculations for drug dilutions and reconstitution.
- Utilize closed system transfer devices (CSTDs) during the preparation of hazardous medications.
- Ensure proper disposal of all hazardous waste generated during compounding.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in controlled environments within the pharmacy according to established schedules.
- Prioritize daily compounding tasks to efficiently complete batch preparations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of medications, including lot numbers and inventory records.
- Perform basic data entry into departmental automation systems for pharmacist verification of compounded products.
- Support the establishment and coordination of daily work functions, optimizing time management.
- Address workplace challenges and conflicts in a calm and professional manner.
- Place orders for medications and supplies from vendors as necessary in the absence of the Purchasing Agent.
- Assist with the replenishment of pharmaceutical products throughout the facility, including automated dispensing machines.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections across nursing units, pharmacy, and off-site locations to ensure 100% compliance.
- Maintain quality control standards in clean room environments in accordance with USP regulations.
- Keep records related to quality control activities in clean rooms, including temperature and pressure logs.
- Demonstrate a commitment to fulfilling the needs of nursing and medical staff, as well as patients.
- Assist in maintaining readiness for inspections by regulatory bodies.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and professional workspace at all times.
- Focus on medication safety and document any medication errors.
- Participate in mandatory training and successfully complete annual technician competencies.
- Perform additional duties as required to support departmental needs.
