Job Summary:
The Director of Medical Staff Services is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the administrative and operational aspects of medical staff management at UF Health. This role promotes cooperative relationships between the medical staff, allied health staff, administration, and hospital personnel while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, best practices, accreditation, regulatory, and licensure standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day process of credentialing applications, including new applications, reappointments, and privilege modifications.
- Manage the Medical Staff Services Department functions while maintaining compliance with Joint Commission standards, NCQA standards, and the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws.
- Collaborate with hospital departments to ensure a smooth transition for onboarding physicians and advanced practice professionals.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervise a team of 5-10 employees and provide guidance and support to ensure successful department operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or certification by National Association of Medical Staff Services.
- Over five (5) years in management of medical staff affairs.
- Extensive knowledge of Joint Commission and NCQA standards as related to a Medical Staff Services Department.
- Ability to communicate effectively with medical staff and administrative personnel.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
