We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Care Physician to join our team at Better Health Group Inc. Defunct in Sun City Center, FL.
Job Summary:The Primary Care Physician will provide exceptional medical care to patients by conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing patient treatment plans. This role is a safety-sensitive position that involves direct patient care and administering medication.
Responsibilities:- Practice medicine using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine.
- Meet all clinical obligations of the medical practice, including Accrediting Agency compliance, CLIA compliance, drug prescription compliance, HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, and Safety Regulations.
- Independently provide care for patients with acute and chronic illness encountered in the older adult patient.
- Accountable for patient care and outcomes and will appropriately seek consultation from specialists when needed.
- Engage with hospitalists whenever a patient is in the hospital.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, promote health, and provide care coordination and documentation for patients with acute and complex chronic health needs using evidence-based medicine and practice guidelines.
- Maintain complete and detailed records, electronically in the EMR, of patients' health care plans and prognosis, completed within 48 hours of each patient's visit.
- Provide quality evidence-based medical care in a managed care environment, focused on prevention, and outcomes.
- Exhibit behavior that emphasizes compassion, quality, loyalty, and conscientiousness.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families, and team members.
- Oversee and supervise Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistant when requested.
- Responsible for ensuring that patients are seen at least every other visit by a Physician.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Medical Degree from an accredited medical school.
- Active medical license in the state of practice.
- Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to interpret medical tests and results.
- At least 3 years of experience in outpatient primary care experience.
- Prior experience working in an electronic medical records system.
- Provide 5-Star service in accordance with Better Health Group's mission.
- ACLS/BLS certification required as mandated by state.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and results-oriented capabilities.
- Must be able to work professionally with confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams.
- Ability to shift focus, multi-task, and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.
- STRONG reasoning and critical thinking required.
- MUST be results-oriented with a focus on quality execution and delivery.
- Working knowledge with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration.
- Full range of body motion, including handling and transferring patients, manual and finger dexterity; including eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling, and reaching at arms length and overhead in a clinic for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move patients and medical equipment as needed.
- Requires ability to lift/carry up to 15 lbs.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have own means of transportation.
