Job Summary

The Production Assembler is a key role at RIX Industries, responsible for the installation and assembly of compressor units using specified mechanical components, fabricated parts, and assembly hardware.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble compressors and/or their subassemblies according to customer needs, following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.
  • Overhaul and repair used compressors or components as required to meet customer needs.
  • Provide quality, on-time assembly of compressors, generators, and associated parts and pieces.
  • Control manufacturing expenses through proper use of supplies and equipment and meeting labor standards.
  • Package products for shipping and notify supervisor of adequate supplies and tools.
  • Ensure effective communication within the department and with all company functions.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and practices.
  • Maintain plant facilities and equipment as directed.
Requirements
  • Minimum qualifications: degree from technical school or equivalent combination of education and work experience, one year experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic in any related field.
  • Ability to read and understand structural drawing, schematics, and operating manuals.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to perform calculations such as percentages, ratios, and fractions.
  • Ability to learn basic computer skills and adapt to a variety of software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advance coursework in mechanical assembly discipline.
  • Specific experience in the manufacture of air and gas compressors and generators.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This position is regularly exposed to manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. While working near moving equipment, mechanical parts, and lift trucks, must have the ability to follow safe operating procedures.

May be exposed to loud noise, fumes, and/or toxic chemicals.

Must have the following physical abilities: ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift; ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
