Job Summary

Labor One Staffing is seeking a skilled Aluminum Welder to join our team at a shipyard in Panama City, FL. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lay out and fit components to assemble structural forms
  • Weld components in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead
  • Examine welds for adherence to specifications and inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment
  • Produce high-quality welds, including water-tight penetrations with various materials
Requirements
  • One to three years of experience as a flux core arc welder
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and work processes and techniques for fitting and welding steel and other materials
  • Knowledge of ship terminology, welding symbols, safety, OSHA, and ABS regulations
  • Ability to read and comprehend written, oral, or diagram forms or plans
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
Working Conditions

The work environment is a heavy industrial shipyard with potential exposure to electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and continual loud noise. Rigorous compliance with safety procedures, policies, and personal safety equipment requirements is mandatory.
