Job Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide quality respiratory care to our patients, including routine and complex procedures, using various techniques and equipment. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with others to ensure patient care meets quality standards established by the hospital, department, and regulatory agencies.
Main Responsibilities:
Assess patients' clinical status, evaluate progress toward goals, and recommend courses of action to determine a plan of care.
Plan for patients' respiratory care needs in collaboration with other members of the care team to provide the highest quality of clinical outcomes.
Safely perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards, procedural guidelines, and policies to provide safe patient care.
Analyze critical situations and apply appropriate judgment and critical thinking to achieve problem resolution.
Accurately and reliably interpret and communicate patient results to support patient care.
Document interventions performed and response to therapies in the electronic medical record to result in compliant and useful documentation.
Interact with and explain therapeutic modalities to patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team in an understandable manner based on learning styles and individual diversity to ensure collaborative care coordination.
Requirements:
Associate's Degree
Current Florida Respiratory Therapist Licensure
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NRBC)
Must be a graduate from a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
Minimum of 1 year experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
No experience required for New graduate Registered Respiratory Therapist
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association or must be obtained within 120-day orientation period
Current NRP certification if working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Salary Range: $29.74 - $47.58 per hour, commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
