As a mental health care specialist, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of adults or youth with temporary and chronic mental health and substance use challenges.

What You'll Do:
  • You will develop and follow a person-centered plan of care addressing each patient's range in ability to perform activities of daily living.
  • You will perform and document risk assessments, preventative measures, and proactive interventions.
  • You will follow safe medication administration practices.
  • You will identify, monitor, assess, and treat individuals with mental health, substance use, and other disorders.
  • You will accurately assess for signs/symptoms of withdrawal while reporting and documenting pertinent findings.
  • You will demonstrate completion of a plan of care for patients that is measurable, achievable, and done in collaboration with the resident/client, family, caregivers, and the care team.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures for restraints/seclusions.
  • You will verbalize understanding of admission criteria and care for clients in various BHS programs.
  • You will understand prevention techniques and management of behavior that is harmful to self and others.
Requirements:
  • You must have a degree in Nursing earned at an accredited college or university.
  • You must have current Professional Nurse Registration from the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing.
  • You must have current BLS (CPR) Certification.
  • A preferred certification in Psychiatric Nursing would be beneficial.
  • You must possess effective communication, documentation, and organization skills.
  • You must have strong interpersonal skills including attention to detail, compassion, listening, empathy, patience, cooperation, and dependability.
  • You must be able to lift, transport, and support residents.
  • Exceptional attendance is required.
What We Offer:
  • We offer a competitive salary up to $38.00 per hour, plus shift differential for PM and Night shifts.
  • We also offer incentive pay for working additional hours beyond your schedule and up to a $10,000 signing bonus.
  • Full-time and part-time positions are available with flexible shift options that meet your needs.
  • We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and more.
  • You could be eligible for the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where participating staff contribute 6.9% and we match this at 100% each pay period.
