Job Description:

The Independence Advocate will create opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to achieve greater independence, integration, individualization, and productivity. This role involves identifying and solidifying natural and community-based relationships, providing necessary supports to empower individuals to be successful in their chosen environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals in establishing meaningful relationships
• Support daily living activities such as bathing, hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Assist with transferring and walking
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding
• Safely transport individuals to and from activities and appointments
• Develop and implement emergency evacuation plans and training

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a High School diploma or equivalent, experience with direct care and/or developmental disabilities is preferred. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, understand and adhere to established plans and protocols, communicate effectively, and document and report accurately.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a range of benefits, including PTO/CAT 3 or PT, CFR:201, and a competitive salary package.
