Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide nursing services, training, and supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations and a strong understanding of healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the health conditions of individuals served and ensure quality services are provided.
  • Administer medications and provide documentation.
  • Provide prescribed medical treatment by physician's orders and personal care services.
  • Conduct assessments, implement healthcare services, and respond to changes in condition.
  • Provide training to staff members on universal precautions, infection control, and medication administration.
  • Serve as a liaison and advocate with other medical and professional service providers.
  • Provide training for individuals served on topics including self-medication, prescribed treatments, sex education/STD prevention, and smoking cessation.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • One year of experience working with the population served in a nursing capacity.
  • Current driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance.
  • Additional certifications as required by state licensing regulations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, individuals served, and families.
