Shipyard Rigger

Global 1st Flagship Company is seeking a skilled Rigger II to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. As a Rigger II, you will be responsible for performing specific rigging operations using lever and chain hoists, reeving, rigging hitches and knots, anchor points, synthetic ropes, wire ropes, chains, spreader bars, synthetic slings, lifting points, dollies, trollies, winches, bars and levelers, and rigging jacks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs rigging operations using various equipment and techniques.
• Selects and attaches hoisting and pulling gear for lifting, moving and positioning heavy machines, items of equipment, large structural parts and other heavy objects.
• Handles every type, kind and size object, aboard ships and in shops, with the help of cranes, chain and lever hoists.
• Works with blueprints, specifications, diagrams and sketches to ensure accurate and safe rigging operations.
• Must be able to read English and have a general knowledge of blueprints, specifications, diagrams and sketches.

Requirements:

• Three (3) years of experience as a Rigger or relevant experience in the military.
• Must possess an intermediate level of proficiency in all rigger tasks.
• Be proficient in load dynamics and load weight estimation or determination as they relate to the rigging operation, calculation of equipment capacities, and apply D/d ratios, vectors, and angles.
• Must have a valid driver's license and qualify to operate government/company vehicles in accordance with the Corporate Fleet Vehicle Safety Manual.
