Job Summary

This position is located at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Pharmacy Department, in the Oncology/Hematology Satellite. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sterile compounding, clinical trials, and pharmacy procedure setup.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmaceutical care to complex oncology/hematology patients
  • Collaborate with providers in the design and optimization of complex drug treatment plans
  • Review medication orders for standard of care indications, dosing, adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, IV incompatibilities, and supportive care regimens
  • Coordinate drug retrieval and preparation based on drug stability, preparation complexity, and patient arrival time
  • Develop templates based on new and amended research protocols to guide medication preparation activities
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Licensure to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service, performing tasks such as serving as pharmacy liaison, evaluating drug literature, monitoring active investigational studies, and providing pharmaceutical care to a complex patient population

This position is designated as an emergency essential position and the selected candidate will be considered an emergency essential employee.
