Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality echocardiograms on patients of all ages, utilizing advanced imaging techniques and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of echocardiogram procedures, protocols, and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest advancements in echocardiogram technology and techniques.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting excellent patient care and customer service.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a two-year allied health education program in patient care-related fields (e.g., diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or registered nursing).
  • Certification/Licenses: Registered or registry-eligible national accreditation in diagnostic medical sonography, with BLS certification from the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to fast-paced environments.
  • Experience: Two years of actively performing echocardiograms, with a strong understanding of echocardiogram procedures and safety protocols.

Work Environment

  • May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and airborne pathogens, requiring knowledge of safety standards to minimize exposure.
  • May be required to lift patients, push heavy equipment, beds, and carts, necessitating physical stamina and strength.
