Cybersecurity Strategist for EON Consulting

EON Consulting, LLC is a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) and IT consulting firm based in Denton, TX. We specialize in delivering comprehensive IT solutions, including day-to-day support, proactive system maintenance, robust cybersecurity strategies, and long-term technology planning.

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Strategist to spearhead our clients' cybersecurity initiatives. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for safeguarding our clients' cybersecurity postures by managing vulnerabilities, developing and implementing policies, conducting training, assessing risk, responding to incidents, and maintaining clear client communication.

• Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, review, update, implement, and test comprehensive incident response plans, AI acceptable use policies, cyber liability insurance policies, vulnerability management, and business continuity policies.
• Vulnerability Scanning and Compliance Oversight: Oversee quarterly internal vulnerability scans, reporting findings, and ensuring timely remediation. Manage quarterly external vulnerability scans, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for mitigation. Supervise annual penetration tests, reviewing results, and guiding remediation strategies.
• Training, Testing, and Campaign Oversight: Oversee end-user cybersecurity training campaigns, providing reporting on progress and effectiveness. Supervise end-user phishing testing campaigns, analyzing results, and enhancing client security awareness. Develop and manage cybersecurity tabletop exercises to improve client incident response readiness.
• Risk Assessment and Documentation: Conduct annual IT risk assessments, identifying and mitigating security gaps. Create and maintain up-to-date data flow diagrams for critical client operations. Maintain current and comprehensive network diagrams for effective asset management and security review.
• Incident and Client Communication: Conduct detailed postmortem reviews of any cybersecurity incidents, providing recommendations, and educating clients on improved practices.

• A solid understanding of basic network security best practices, including principles of securing network infrastructures.
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity roles, demonstrating proficiency in vulnerability management, incident response, policy development, and cybersecurity training.
• A strong familiarity with leading security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and their practical application.
• Working knowledge of compliance standards such as HIPAA, FTC Safeguards, and other industry-specific regulations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
• Reliable transportation for occasional local onsite client visits.
• A positive attitude, punctuality, and a commitment to continuous learning.
