Role Overview

The Medical Laboratory Technician II (MLT II) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care at BJC Healthcare. As a member of the Laboratory-Core team, you will be responsible for performing specimen processing and routine/complex testing on blood and other specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately report and maintain patient test results through the laboratory computer system, meeting published turn-around times for routine testing and statistics.
  • Document patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiate corrective action.
  • Perform quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoot malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
  • Operate all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
  • Train new personnel in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Physical/Life Science or related field.
  • Licensed and Certified in ASCP, AMT, AAB, or equivalent or eligible.
