Job Overview:
Deliver direct nursing care in line with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and oversees patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient conditions as necessary.
- Acts as the primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Executes physician and nursing directives.
- Evaluates and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
- Applies evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge to nursing care, ensuring age-specific and clinical needs are met as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
- Upholds professional nursing standards as defined in the professional practice model, utilizing the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to navigate the evolving health and nursing needs of patients.
- Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent education for licensing
EXPERIENCE
- No prior experience required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent oral communication and interaction.
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Regular lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
- Regular use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
- Frequent use of smell for detecting odors.
- Regular auditory communication for receiving information and alarms.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional patient handling.
