Podiatrist - Medical Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to join the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION as a Podiatrist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide quality patient care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
• Perform specific duties within your approved scope of practice
• Qualify to perform duties as a podiatrist, have completed an accredited residency and/or possess experience which has qualified the individual to perform general duties and some specialized functions and procedures without supervision
Requirements
• Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States
• Education: Degree as a doctor of podiatric medicine, or its equivalent, from a school of podiatric medicine approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs
• Residency Training: Completed, or currently completing, residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
• Licensure & Registration: Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice Podiatry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia
Working Conditions
• May be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures
• May occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders
