HOC has the authority to acquire, manage, and operate housing facilities, facilitate the construction or renovation of housing, and secure financial support from various public and private entities to enhance its housing initiatives. Additionally, HOC coordinates social services, resident services, and daycare options.

Position Overview:
This role involves entry-level professional accounting tasks, focusing on the analysis and preparation of financial and budgetary documents and reports. An individual in this position will engage in professional accounting responsibilities that necessitate careful analysis and decision-making.

The work primarily involves routine tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, billing, and report preparation. While there is supervisory oversight, the employee is expected to operate independently and proficiently manage their accounting responsibilities.

Guidelines are provided through HOC's policies, administrative regulations, and applicable government accounting standards, including State and Federal tax laws, auditing standards, and financial reporting procedures. However, some adaptation of existing practices may be required.

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare accounting data for entry into general ledger accounts from subsidiary records.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial statements and reports.
- Monitor and evaluate daily cash receipts and wires in preparation for journal entries, resolving any coding issues, and addressing inquiries from staff and external agencies.
- Prepare bank deposits for various accounts.
- Create journal entries for all deposits and wires.
- Generate monthly journal entries for ZBA, Security Deposit, and Replacement for Reserve.
- Correct general ledger entries as necessary.
- Maintain organized records.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in an accounting role.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with governmental regulations governing accounting activities.
- Knowledge of inter-company reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in computerized spreadsheet databases and accounting systems.
- Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret financial data to resolve accounting issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
