Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Stable Attendant to join our team at Tradewinds Park and Stables. As a Stable Attendant, you will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of our horses and farm animals, including grooming, feeding, and providing veterinary care as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with riding instruction and training horses for the public
  • Perform maintenance work in the rental horse stable and farm animal exhibit area, including cleaning and upkeep of stalls, pastures, and fences
  • Assist with the routine care and maintenance of horses and farm animals, including routine health care, administration of medication, and treatment of injuries and illnesses
  • Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of tack and related equipment
  • Assist with the implementation of various programs and procedures, including farm and animal science programs provided to the general public
Requirements and Preferences

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in animal care and maintenance, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

Work Environment

The Stable Attendant will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to animals and the outdoors. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and will be able to lift and carry heavy objects as needed.

Broward County offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including 11 annual holidays, accrued annual/vacation and sick leave, FRS retirement, and participation eligibility in a deferred compensation (457) plan with a match up to $2,000.
